We are posting this to let the public know the steps we are taking to help out in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Our office building is closed to visitors until further notice, to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19. We are still working diligently to complete tax returns and other accounting work with most of our staff working remotely. The IRS has automatically extended the tax deadline and all tax payments due for 2019 and 2020 for everyone until July 15th. Therefore, the first two estimated tax payments normally due by April 15th and June 15th are now due by July 15th. Tennessee has not announced an extension yet, but I expect they will have to follow suit.

We will have staff in the office from 7:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m., answering the phone and taking messages for the accountants. We are also available by email.

If you haven't brought in your tax documents yet and would like to do so during the next couple of weeks, there are several options for getting them to us.

1. You could use our portal system which allows you to upload your documents via a secure portal. This is found here, on our website. This portal also allows us to deliver your tax return to you, where you can download it to your computer or print it off if you like. The portal also provides a safe place for you to store your tax returns for as long as you are with us. It is also a convenient option for you to share your tax return to your Banker if needed. If you don't already have a portal with us and would like one, please call or email us and we will be happy to set one up for you. This is a free permanent service we offer to you.

2. You could email us your documents, however we discourage that because email that has not been encrypted is not secure and could expose your tax and personal information to criminals that want to steal your identity.

3. You can mail your documents to us using the good old post office.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with us while we all work together to kill off this virus and get back to life and business as usual. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you again in person as soon as possible!

Check back here regularly for current updates to tax deadlines and information regarding tax relief due to the virus and more.
